Benzene, oxybis((1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl)- is commonly referred to as 2,4-di-tert-butylphenyl benzyl ether or simply benzyl ether. This organic compound consists of a benzene ring with two oxybis(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl) groups attached to it. The presence of bulky and highly branched tetramethylbutyl groups makes this compound useful as a hindered phenol antioxidant, primarily in the rubber and plastics industries.
